By intention for understanding and exploring its structural complexity the visitor is propelled on the facade by
two panoramic elevators into the top sky level inside the clouds fire fighting practice and rainstorm simulation.
He descends by escalators through the inner core experiencing the vast program clusters of the building interior.
Each visitor is able to adjust his parkoure up to personal specifics. The interiors media-walls are ready for
constant suggestions, no matter your location, your program follows you till the ultimate objective.
The planetarium is consciously balanced on the building edge structure. The “planets” peripheral ring serves
the panoramic restaurant adjacent to the central library. Here you can overlook the momentary congress hall
events or continue in your educative journey. Congress has a moving floor enabling also a possible flat floor
program arrangement.
On the first floor children playhouse attributes to education of the youngest center visitors.
from the entrance hall “orientation stage” with exposition area, is direct access to the separate adjacent buildings, the shelter and on the opposite side the earthquake simulators.
Office spaces are crowning the tower, with a central atrium. Below the office cluster the technical machine room is located with supporting mechanism direct to specific program events underneath Parking area of 200cars is covered by a vegetal grid canopy.

>structure, sustainability,
the building as a 3d structural steel and concrete grid performs as gigantic vierendel truss reinforced by two
vertical cores, and horizontal floor beams of 3x3m structural size. The construction foundations are designed
to the site specific earthquake requirements.
The building structural facade system, modular composit of pre cast super lightweight concrete panels alternated
with glass modules, stimulates the natural ventilation supported by the air conditional system in a most efficient
way to accumulate the heat in winter period, and perform cooling in the hot summer time.
Facades permanent protective, self-cleaning coating, leads to maintenance cost reduction – up to 80% volume
reduction in water for cleaning activities – up to 80% reduction in chemical products.
Dirt is destroyed with the sun light and is removed by rain. The facade Photocalyst enables Air purification:
1m² produces 20m3 of purifying air per hour decomposing NOxS and VOCS with Long term ecological and
economical benefits.
The aim of the building itself, is not only to be representative of disaster prevention, it includes importance of
its own implication for our more sustainable future.

Robota’s GEOME3 housing block is now presented among other 173 projects at the LIVING exhibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art/DK/opening June 1st-closing October 2nd

An endless number of different
cities can be built by simply replacing
blocks with others.
In the Block City the products of the Designer City are
made affordable for a larger audience: the growing
middle class in developing countries. Architects, knowing
they can realize their project on more then one site,
are able to spend more time on research and development.
Increasingly sophisticared technologies can be
applied, tested and improved. Well designed projects
will be repeated at the cost of poorly designed ones.
Urban development will become a fast and predictable
process, where Block City projects can be applied immediately
while tailor made designs are developed for
specific sites. Moreover, since block sizes are known in
advance, development of housing blocks can start before masterplanning has been completed, reducing development time dramatically.
The A101 Block City competition, organized for the
Masshtab corporation in Moscow, envisioned the creation
of a new city of 40.000 inhabitants near Moscow.
The masterplan brief demanded that 80% of
blocks have standard sizes. Four international architectural
practices took part in a closed competition. Simultanously,
an open competition for the design of the
blocks was organized. 210 architects from 20 countries
took part – 147 projects are shown in this exhibition.
They are presented here in the form of a catalogue
from which and endless number of different cities
can be built by simple replacing blocks with others.

A seminar about: the BLOCK CITY idea and the typology of the housing projects, will take place  at the closing date of the exhibition on Sunday October 2nd at the LOUISIANA MUSEUM LIVING EXPOSITION

Some models are standing in a large (3,5 x 2,5 m) model in the middle of the room. The idea is that you can build your own city by exchanging models with the ones that are standing on the shelves.

GEOME3/A101 Block city Moscow RU, competition 2010

As a never-ending path of a backpacker, the ESCALERA URBANA© rises from the city to the clouds, even further than the lands horizon.

Designed for housing Barcelona’s “observation”,  ESCALERA URBANA links the city’s mixed typology into its skies.

The building program is divided into two special program partitions, of equivalent surface amount.

The roof and the body.

The roof as an exterior and semi exterior public terrace, and the corpus conceived of interior common and residential hotel units.

The revolving building creates an extended public terrace from entrance up to the top roof  level, open to all hostel visitors, from each floor. The ramp and all hostel rooms are wheel chair accessible, the revolving ramp floor mounts with a less than 12% slope.

ESCALERA URBANA serves as a continuous space of encounter, contemplation, as an instant panoramic colonnade.

The ground Hostel plaza is defined into tree programmatical bands, 1/entrance- as a public cafe, 2/hostel building- emerging from a water basin, 3/court- a calm pool park, garden with shading trees alleys.

sustainibility

As spiral helix structure, the building shape itself, provides cooling to the interior, during hot summer days, capturing the wind breeze, and accumulates sun energy for extended heating periods.

For the necessary air transmission the proposed building effectively takes advantage of the natural air flow.

structure

The entire ESCALERA URBANA is a steel frame body composite with concrete block walls, stabilized by its three vertical pylon structures, two elevator and one spiral staircase tower.

the scope of TRIBUNE is to use the opportunity of the Sava riverbank, in order to create an additional event plaza. Instead of a common urban building collection with a promenade, our proposal engage the pedestrians to perform within  the “architectural” landscape.

TRIBUNE rises upon the Beton Hala as a 3Dimensional square, covering the planned program activities.

Similar to the world’s oldest purpose-built shopping mall, Trajan’s Market /Rome AD 100-110/

which anticipated an extensive program cluster of shops and administrative offices, inside a multi-level structure, of which several level are still accessible for visitors.

We suggest a contemporary temple of culture and market areas. A modern interpretation of classical architectural order,  rough and complex tympanum/pediment/, a logical addition to the modern arcades of existing Beton Hala.

Through cascade ascending of exhibition and shopping areas towards the hill, TRIBUNE mezzanines and overlooks are natural visual linking  the  floor levels for all the visitors.

The stacking of exhibition volumes creates up to a 12 m exhibition hall a vast entrance area for contemporary art.

On top of each of the gallery boxes and shopping areas, are formed roof terraces providing space for outdoor displays and activities.

The expo areas of the building connects with the shopping activities  by a passageway. It orchestrates surprising encounters of gallery spaces & shopping areas, that lead the visitor, as if by chance, to the rest of the museum complex, or the museums partner, the contemporary “venture” of congestion.

By a future funicular and pedestrian tubular bridge, joining the Beton Hala addition, we are connecting the Belgrade Fortress, Kalemegdan Park with the Sava riverbank,

As an unification of three urban levels, TRIBUNE is a singular urban addition to the audience of Sava river spectacles.

In order to delineate the  urban character of the ZGP, our proposal follows the Cartesian grid, defined by the Plzen’s Cathedral of St. Bartholomew.

The reinterpretation of this urban grid develops into the showroom of Art exposal  and its distribution…..

block, slab and tower:

Square/solidity, stability, trust /, Circle/infinity, perfection, harmony/, Point /dynamism, significance for orientation/ are forming the block of the new century.

Renaissance/orthogonal/, Baroque/oblique/, Gothic/vertical/ united in the basics of new modern architecture and urbanism.

In our proposal, each corner of the block has its specific urban character, potential simple array and mirroring of the block, results into its infinite urban fabric combinations, multiplied by the height modulation.

Architecture:

-ground floor

is along its entire exterior facade devoted to rental shop areas and public facilities, additional storage boxes for the block inhabitants surrounding the covered parking area for more than 160 cars, a ramp for the firemen leads to the interior garden level of the both block courtyards.

-residential area

is assembled of 13 different apartment types, varying from T1/1 room apartment/ up to T4/4 room apartment/.

The lower rectangular block part is composed of combinations of T1-T2 apartment types. The middle part, the circular slab, is conceived by combinations of higher standard mostly T3 apartments, the tower as the most exclusive part consist generally of the T4 apartment category. The total number of apartments is 363.

-roof

is mainly used to sport activities, the rectangular roof top as an open swimming pool on its slim plane, and a multipurpose playground on its opposite wider plane, it is used as 1/2 sized hockey playground during the winter period.

The circular rooftop is concieved as an athletics running track.

Wave 68-84 maps the architectural production of the young generation of Slovak architects and analyzes this group, classified by their age, through the critical texts of Hans Ibelings/NL, Ivan Gürtler/SK, Maria Topolčanská/SK and Imro Vaško/SK and evaluates the state of young architecture based on a sample of 108 selected projects and 41 architects and architectural teams.

Czech-slovak exhibition presenting the creative approach and the way of thinking of young architects. The project introduced 20 Czech and 20 Slovak architects and studios, whose origins are dated in the year 1989 and later. Instead of a conventional project presentation, the real works were shown – a dog kennel (CZ) and a bird box (SK).
